Requirements Expert 1 – Team Leader - private sector development strategies (Lot 10 – Central Asia)
Qualifications and skills At least a Master's degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Trade or related field. In the absence of a University Degree stated above, 12 years of equivalent professional experience which must be in addition to the general professional experience duration fixed below, are required in the area of trade and/or Private Sector Development and economics.
General Professional Experience At least 12 years' experience in the field of economics, trade and/or private sector development.
Specific professional experience: At least 2 years' work experience related to or in the Central Asian countries. Prior experience in the field of private sector development Demonstrable experience of leading a team of experts. Knowledge of international and regional trade policies, international trade related assistance programmes, preferably in landlocked countries.
Language skills: Russian is essential for the successful implementation of this task. The expert needs to be able to speak, read and understand Russian fluently unaided by interpretation and should preferably have level 1, but minimum level 2 of Russian. Be fluent in English (preferably level 1, but minimum level 2).

Qualifications and skills:
At least a Master's Degree in economics, trade, finance or industrial development. In the absence of a University Degree stated above, 12 years of equivalent professional experience which must be in addition to the general professional experience duration fixed below, are required in the area of trade and/or Private Sector Development.Strong report writing skills
General Professional Experience Professional experience of up to 12 years in sectors related to Trade, Micro-Finance and Capacity Building for the private sector including SMEs, Intermediary Organisations and civil society organisations involved in economic development.
Specific professional experience: At least 10 years' professional experience with the Access to Finance aspect of private sector development Demonstrable experience in conducting market analyses, investigating constraints to competitiveness and innovation for SMEs Experience in data collection related to the private sector Good understanding of investment environment involving SMEs, banks and intermediary organisation Experience with value chain analysis and development Experience in monitoring private sector development programmes is considered a distinctive advantage Experience in working with public institutions and private sector organisations is an advantage
Language skills: Be fluent in English; speaking, reading and writing (preferably level 1, but minimum level 2).
EC rules applicable to any EC assignment • Working days are from Monday to Friday, if not indicated otherwise in the ToR • Per diem covers all expenses of the expert (local transport, hotel, meals, telecom, etc) and it is only paid if the expert stay overnight. • International travel: the EC only reimburse economy class flight tickets |
