Short project description:
The objective of the Project "Support to Protected Areas in Ukraine" is to improve management and effectiveness of selected Protected Areas (PAs) in Ukraine as well as to increase or maintain at a high level the acceptance of PAs in local communities. This will be achieved through capacity building measures for the management teams of PAs, elaboration of management plans, investment to support the PA management and to support communities surrounding the PAs and strengthening of the national PA-Administration.
Job description: The Communication Officer (CO) is implementing the ongoing activities for Communication and Public Relations (PR) of the Project, in particular as the proposed strategies from the National short-term Communication and PR Expert (CPR):
Assisting CPR developing a communication and awareness strategy Assisting CPR in identifying the target groups of communication and awareness activities. Assisting CPR in producing tailor made outreach materials for the target groups Assist PIU in the elaboration of a Project Management Manual (PMM), annual operational plans and other periodical planning Carry out day-by-day implementation of the strategy Assisting CPR in developing branding strategy, contributing to the implementation Assist facilitating the coverage in media Assist organising events Assist organising the dissemination of project results Answering any other related professional task delegated by the TL
Detailed requirements Education: Bachelor or other education in the field of a communication and PR, journalism or sufficient experience in the field of activities of the CO. Country /Regional experience: Ukraine Languages: Good knowledge of both English and Ukrainian.
Expertise / Profile: The expert should have proven skills in communication, public relations, publishing, strategic planning, with MS Office Software. Knowledge of Nature and Biodiversity Conservation and environmental issues as well as with web design would be an asset. Minimum work experience: From 3 years
