DESCRIPTION
Legal Advisor to Ministry of Justice: Technical Support for Legal Aid Policy Development Education An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent), in law preferably in the field of international human rights, public policy, social science and/or international relations. General professional experience Must have at least 6 years of experience in the promotion and protection of human rights and reinforcement of the rule of law and administration of justice in particular reform of the judiciary ( legal reform, justice, capacity building and training) Specific professional experience At least 4-years proven experience in law and policy drafting in the area of legal aid support and framework; Operational experience in justice sector reform, access to justice and legal reform; Demonstrated knowledge of international human rights conventions and law and international legal aid frameworks; Knowledge of Cambodian law-making process and legal system; Demonstrated Knowledge and experience in designing and conducting training and workshops; Experience of working with public institutions as well as with community organizations and civil society; Demonstrated experience as a team leader/team coordinator; Sound and proven management skills, strong leadership, people development skills and proven ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with public official and other counterparts; Strong analytical skills with the ability to deal with a range of complex legal issues; Strong understanding of the linkages between access to justice, human rights and human development; Strong organisational, facilitation, training technique and drafting skills. Language skills The Advisor shall demonstrate an excellent command of spoken and written English, with very good reporting and communication skills. Knowledge of French, and the ability to speak Khmer is an asset.
