Profile: Expert 1: Team leader and IWRM expert (Lot 6 - Lesotho) Category of expert I Duration 135.00 working days
Requirements Expert 1: Team leader and IWRM expert (Lot 6 - Lesotho)
Qualifications · Post-graduate degree in IWRM, Water Resources Engineering, or related field (masters, or equivalent through work experience).
General professional experience · At least twelve (12) years of relevant experience in integrated catchment management; · Experience with policy formulation in IWRM; · Experience with capacity development, decentralisation and community mobilisation in IWRM; · Experience with rangeland management, woody biomass and grazing issues in catchments; · Full understanding of economic utilisation of water for productive use and of natural resource products from catchments; · Familiar with multi-stakeholder approaches and facilitation of change processes; · Excellent inter-personal skills for communication; · Proven team player in similar assignments as team leader; · Good analytical skills.
Specific professional experience · Well informed about the national, regional and global broader water issues, while experience of working in similar assignments in Southern Africa will be considered an asset; · Skills and ability to lead a multi-disciplinary technical team in natural resources management and development; · Ample experience with operationalisation of ICM / IWRM / Sustainable Land Management programmes; · Knowledge of community based participatory GIS and database tools to support participatory catchment planning procedures.
Profile: Expert 2: Change Management expert (Lot 6 - Lesotho) Category of expert II Duration 125.00 working days
Requirements Expert 2: Change Management expert (Lot 6 - Lesotho)
Qualifications · Post-graduate degree in sociology, community / organisational development, public administration; with strong background in IWRM or related field (masters, or equivalent through work experience).
General professional experience · At least six (6) years of relevant experience in change management / capacity development programmes; · Knowledge of and experience with institutional reform, change and conflict management, decentralisation and community mobilisation in IWRM programmes; · A solid understanding of how people go through change processes; · Experience in process oriented approach; · Excellent communication and listening skills; · Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences; · Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships; · Team player with good analytical skills;
Specific professional experience · Skills to engage in constructive dialogue with governmental and non-governmental organisations, and good conflict management skills; · Specific experience with similar projects in Southern Africa and fluency in Sesotho would be considered an advantage; · Experience in the design, development, delivery and management of communication strategies; · Experience in design and delivery of training programmes; · Demonstrated cross-cultural sensitivity, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
EC rules applicable to any EC Assignment • Working days are from Monday to Friday, if not indicated otherwise in the ToR • Per diem covers all expenses of the expert (local transport, hotel, meals, telecom,etc) and it is only paid if the expert stay overnight. • International travel: the EC only reimburse economy class flight tickets | ||
