Dear Kassim
Expectation Gap represents a scenario whereby the general public including an entity's stakeholders assume that the professional accountants have several responsibilities such as prevention and detection of each and every fraud an the organisation, however, many of the expected responsibilities may not be actualy that of the professional accountants (including external and internal auditors). Neverthelss this gap may create strong public desire/demand for extending scope of auditors' work.
Hope this helps
Ali
