Position (1)....

This public sector department is undertaking a project that would provide a solution impacting a significant change for their business. As such, there is an immediate requirement for several J2EE Developers to join their rapidly growing team in the design phase of their development project.

To be a successful candidate for these roles, you will need a portfolio of solid skills in J2EE development. Your strengths in Spring & Hibernate framework as well as Object-Oriented design, development and analysis background is imperative for this role.

Commercial experience in IBM Websphere as well as UML Modelling will be an additional advantage.

Your outstanding technical skills will also be accompanied by exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. In addition, you will have the ability to work with tight deadlines and possess a high level of work ethic.

Position (2)...

This public sector department implemented an enterprise wide, integrated client relationship, funding management and information service system: A multi-disciplinary project team is currently in place. The team is comprised of a mix of vendor consultant, contract and permanent staff comprising project management, organisational change management, expert business representatives and information technology applications development staff.

Technical Environment

The system is being developed using the Cúram framework product. The environment can be described as:
·Oracle 10g
·EJB 2.0 / J2EE architecture
·Apache Ant
·Rational Rose
·IBM Websphere
·IDE (Integrated Development Environment) is Eclipse with Myeclipse plugin
·The Cúram client is a thin Client i.e. HTML with W3C compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - DUTIES – SKILLS SET

The contractor will be required to perform a number of functions involving systems analysis, design and construction and to perform quality assurance activities in these areas. There is also a requirement to provide mentoring to personnel working on the project where relevant. The contractor will also be expected to work closely with business representatives, IT staff and vendor consultants in order to:

· Carry out systems analysis and design activities in accordance with the methods described within the project methodology, standards and required by the Cúram framework;
· Carry out construction activities in accordance with the methods described within the project methodology, standards and required by the Cúram framework;
· May be required to be involved in the definition of software development standards and procedures;
· Provide advice on the impact of project change requests;
· Provide status reports to the Project Manager;
· Produce discussion papers for consideration by senior managers relating to areas of expertise;
· Carry out quality assurance in relation to systems analysis, design and construction activities; and
· Perform other software development tasks as required.

DELIVERABLES

Contractors proposed for consideration by the department will require the following:
· Demonstrated skills and practical experience in relation to JAVA software development in a similar environment including analysis, design and construction;
· Demonstrated broad experience in software analysis, design and construction on large-scale software development projects;
· Proven ability to work with minimal supervision and successfully organise and prioritise workload;
· Strong analytical and written and oral communication skills especially in communicating with business personnel;
· Proven ability to successfully work individually and as part of a multi-disciplinary information technology project team;
· Experience with UML and/or Rational Rose (Desirable);
· Experience with Oracle (Desirable);
· Experience with human services and/or financial systems (Desirable); and
· Experience with Cúram (Desirable).
